And while writing, I took a break from publishing new content to my Blue Monkey Dev blog. This last year has been busy with BrightPlanet, Code Bootcamp, Gaming Bootcamp, writing Wired for Coding, serving as President of Health Connect and a few other projects.
Code Bootcamp, Sioux Falls Diversity Council, and AT&T team up to teach STEM education on South Dakota’s Indian reservations through building video games, and we are so excited.
The Sioux Falls Diversity Council has received an $11,000 contribution from AT&T that will target STEM education for Native American grade school students in South Dakota. The grant will support our Code Bootcamp of Sioux Falls program to teach programming skills to students on various South Dakota’s Indian reservations.
I am so excited that we are launching our third Code Bootcamp of South Dakota this summer. We can’t wait to start our next session, we have learned so much from our first two bootcamps. Leadership South Dakota has a goal to build the next generation of South Dakota leaders. As their second class kicked off earlier this month (September 10-13, 2015), a hand-selected group of 43 leaders descended on Pierre, South Dakota to embark on the first of seven sessions scheduled throughout our state in the coming months. Leadership South Dakota has set a big goal, but I am confident we will not let then down.
Code Bootcamp of South Dakota switched gears in early August. Instead of spending 12-weeks teaching adults how to kick start a career in coding we are hosted a summer camp!
